for everyone
I don't know what it is but I am drawn to empty benches. I like taking photos of them or for one of the photos below, stolen with permission from my sister's site. I have nothing against concrete or metal ones but I guess so far the ones that have caught my attention are wooden ones. And it can't be a row or cluster of benches. It has to be a bench..by itself..in the middle of a vast space.

Maybe it's the waiting, empty, inviting and restful space that appeals to you. Or the dignity of an empty chair or bench, just waiting there to serve someone...sort of like the expression: "They also serve who stand and wait." I am intrigued, nevertheless, by your interest in empty benches.

could be! I really dont know how or when this interest with empty benches started. I just sensed that I keep on looking for them.

my friend once bought a very old wooden bench for $5 off craigslist and put it in the middle of his backyard, under a tree... and that was all to it there. it was a beautiful site.
